ART FREE ZONE

ART FREE ZONE doesn't have any time or space, it exists where ever you found one.
ART FREE ZONE is fed up with the Art Business – the accessory activities around Art praised and sold as Art making Art no more Art.
ART FREE ZONE is also fed up with artistic overproduction.
ART FREE ZONE is paradoxal – it is a zone free of art market as well as free of art, therefore free for art.
Free of market doesn't mean "we don't want no money", it means, we don't create products for the market.

ART FREE ZONE will be published irregularly as a flyer.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

ART FREE ZONE has a threefold editorial board: Ilse Ermen, Erika Underwood and Elizabeth Ellsworth, who are also the authors of no. 1. Other authors are invited or can invite themselves – but, attention: it's not a blog, so we won't publish everything. Articles will be transformed into typoscripts and then photocopied.
In Brussels, people could give an interview during The ART FREE ZONE days at Zennestraat 17, or type their own ideas on art business or whatever they wanted.

ART FREE ZONE is published only on paper, you can get copies by only by NON electronic mail. You can copy the copies and distribute them (or not), but we’d be glad if you quote correctly..
The technique is inspired by Soviet "samizdat" ("self edition"), a way of publishing forbidden writings by type writer and carbon copy.

You can get copies at: KUNSTFREIE ZONE PF 2771 CH - 4002 Basel
just send a stamped envelop (We take stamps from CH, D, F, B and the UK). Note: the first number is available only in French and German, the second is multilingual.
